Product Description
The Power Wheels Dune Racer is a 2 seat, open cockpit design with large off road “tires”. The vehicle drives two speeds forward (2.5 and 5 mph maximum) and 2.5 mph in reverse. It also has a front storage compartment and seat belts for added play, a metal frame and nickel plated side safety bars. For enhanced appearance the product has metal plated wheels, front bumper, and shifter. Includes a 12-volt battery and charger. It can go on hard surfaces, wet grass, and rough terrain.
It has a sturdy steel frame with an open cockpit design that is roomy enough to handle two riders. With two forward drive speeds, one reverse speed, and a 12-volt rechargeable battery, this Dune Racer offers hours of fun for ages three and up.
A pair of metal sidebars provides stable hand supports, while the pretend seatbelts with Velcro fasteners help get kids in the habit of buckling up.
The Power Wheels Dune Racer is backed by a one-year limited warranty on the vehicle and six-month limited warranty on the battery.The vehicle took approximately 90 minutes to assemble and 18 hours to fully charge.

Pros
- It really got raving reviews from parents as their kids love it so much. (Here is a quote “I am not exaggerating that within mere minutes of my kids driving this Buggy on the sidewalks of our street the kids came running out like ants! 10 kids (age 6-12) all took turns nonstop until the battery died an hour later.”)
- It is low to the ground, has a bar on each side so they do not easily fall out, and wide for stability.
- The steering wheel is easy to use
- The best part is the lack of “dashboard” to this model so bigger kids can get in and out of the Buggy more easily.
Cons
- Steering capability was somewhat limited, and the plastic tires easily wear on hard surfaces
- The seating position is pretty close to a dune buggy, rather than a car or chair, so shorter kids may have a harder time reaching the pedal than in a more traditional Power Wheels toy but some of the parents just don’t mind because their kids can grow for it.
- The wires to the battery are not sufficiently long to set the battery on the ground flatly in order to unplug the battery so that it can be charged
- The battery is slid into the rear of the Buggy into a compartment that necessitates the battery connection to go in “head first”. Therefore, to charge the battery one must remove the battery from the Buggy
- The battery is hard to put it on and the instruction is not sufficient.
